On the 9th March, the Women’s Business Council and Management Today revealed the top 30 men challenging the status quo and promoting gender equality in workplaces across the UK.
The 2017 Agents of Change power list celebrates 30 male leaders who are actively working alongside women to change working cultures and practices, drive gender equality initiatives and shatter glass ceilings. Over 150 men were nominated, from a range of sectors, including: education; media; and the financial services industry. Nominations were judged by Management Today’s editor Matthew Gwyther and features editor Kate Bassett alongside Cilla Snowball, Chairman of the Women’s Business Council, Helene Reardon-Bond of the Government Equalities Office and Sir Philip Hampton, chairman of GlaxoSmithKline and Co-Chair of the Hampton-Alexander Review.
The Women’s Business Council in partnership with Management Today, BT and Brightstar hosted an official celebration for the 30 winners of the Men as Change Agents the Power List. The event took place on Monday 13 March at the BT Tower and shone the spotlight on this group of inspirational leaders who are champions of women’s contribution in the workplace. Speakers at the event included Management Today’s editor Matthew Gwyther , the Civil Service gender champion Melanie Dawes and Sir Philip Hampton who all spoke of the important and powerful set of role models these winner are for advocating change and shaping the schools, careers and workplaces of the future.
