Analisa Ariss – Specsavers everywoman in Retail Ambassador


Leaving her stable job as a beauty buyer during the recession and while juggling life as a mother of two young girls, Analisa Ariss launched Maddi Alexander, a luxuriously natural home fragrance, bath and body brand, which has experienced unparalleled success. Having always felt passionately about using natural and ethical ingredients, Analisa wanted to run a fragrance brand with a conscience.

Since launch in 2011, the brand is now available in a number of premium retail outlets including Fortnum & Mason and Urban Retreat in Harrods and Gleneagles, and Analisa is in discussions with international distributors to feed the interest from as far afield as Brazil and Dubai. Despite several setbacks along the way, Maddi Alexander has recently been awarded the ‘Gold Website Award’ by Mumpreneur UK.

Described by judges as ‘determined and resilient’, Analisa values support from ‘radiators’, people with warmth and knowledge, and credits mentoring as a key factor in part of her success, having won the 2012/13 Marie Claire ‘Inspire and Mentor’ campaign and a partnership with mentor Tracey Woodward, Commercial Director at Urban Retreat. In turn, Analisa offers her time supporting mums in the North East who are also setting up their own enterprises.
